Swiss Alps Oatmeal

How we make it.

1 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
Dash cinnamon
2 heaping tablespoons Nutella

In a medium sauce pan bring milk to a simmer over high heat. Stir in oats and salt, lower heat to medium low and cook, stirring constantly for 5-10 minutes until thickened. Off the heat, add cinnamon and Nutella, stirring until combined. Serve hot!

Why we make it.

Nutella is why. As with my Sunday Morning Oatcakes, I really like a breakfast that fills my dumplings up for the long haul. They are not so wild about oatmeal, but they are wild about Nutella. If you don't know what Nutella is, take it up with your mom. It's an Italian chocolate hazelnut spread with a very high fat content so a little goes a long way, but a lot goes further! This oatmeal is cooked in milk to be extra creamy. Finished off the heat with heaping spoon fulls of Nutella and a dash of cinnamon, this oatmeal is a warm bowl of love for our little friends. That's why we make it.
